This session will cover the basics of DFI - Digital Futures Initiative, a comprehensive health and digital citizenship curriculum developed by DARE officers in Colorado. This session will dive into DQ world - a free resource chosen by DFI (Digital Futures Initiative) to cover elementary digital citizenship. It is a very involved online game, with optional workbook, handouts, and teacher lessons to help guide 8-12 year olds through DQ world (referring to digital, emotional intelligence.) Also included is a full parent academy lesson if needed.
This session will cover how to use the Nebraska OER Commons Hub, a new tool for teachers in Nebraska. OER or Open Education Resources are educational resources available through public domain or open licensing. OER can include whole courses, textbooks, lessons and other materials for teacher use. The best thing is they are no cost to educators. You will also learn how to add your own content into the Hub so you can share your great resources with other Nebraska teachers. This will include tips for making sure you have incorporated accessibility features as well as many other tips for OER use in the classroom and with other teachers.
